I have been a photographer for the past 40+ years, beginning with my surf trips to Mexico's Pacific coast in the 1960's, capturing images of a land that my friends and family back at home were unfamiliar with. Photography gave me and increased awareness of my immediate surroundings and offered a wonderful way to share the experiences we had. Continuing my college education back home, a darkroom was soon added into my curriculum, and my education with the printing process began.

I worked at Photomurals Ltd, a Houston photographic lab that specialized in large scale color and black and white prints..up to 40' wide and at that time it was all done by hand.

During my commercial photographic career, I worked with business and industries throughout the Americas, Europe, the middle east and northern Africa. I was also fortunate to meet and gain the trust of print gallery owner Gerhard Wurzer. For over 20 years my association with such a knowledgeable art and print dealer would educate me in not only the appreciation of fine art but the knowledge of the many and diverse process of fine art printing there are. Understanding light and creating interesting photographs was something I already had knowledge of..realizing the values of color which helps to creates depth and the contrast of black and white and what could be reproduced added immense quantitative information, was learned by association with Gerhard, and influences the way that I print today.

I utilize modern digital technologies, as well as analog and antiquated film and darkroom methods to create my unique fine art prints. I steer away from traditional papers with both process's and utilize unique handmade papers from around the world to create my prints. Cotton papers from India, tree bark papers from Mexico and Nepal, archival handmade watercolor paper from France as well as others as I find them. The look, texture, and feel of the prints has to be seen to be appreciated for its reflectivity and color/black and white revelation.
